Kinesio Taping
Education is a very important part of what it takes to build the Kinesio® Taping network throughout the world.
It is important that a consistent standard of practice is maintained and practitioners wishing to learn more about the Kinesio® Taping Method are encouraged to participate in seminars and courses which are offered by a Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor (CKTI).
Courses are run under the guidance and direction of the International Kinesio Taping Association, utilising the latest information that is continually being researched and updated by the 200,000 clinicians world-wide who have already trained in the Kinesio® Taping Method
The formal education programme for practitioners is in three parts with the first two parts KT1 and KT2 being covered over two days. After completing a KT1-2 course practitioners are eligible to attend the third part of the programme, KT3, which is held over two days.
Practitioners who have completed the KT3 programme are then eligible to sit a written examination and (upon passing) become a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP).

KT3 – COMPLEX CLINICAL CONDITIONS, MUSCLE COMBINATIONS, NEW POPULATIONS
As KT3 expands on the information taught in KT1-2 it is recommended that a suitable gap to “practise” is left between attending the KT1-2 and KT3 courses.
In this advanced course, complex conditions are investigated including direct tie ins to the work of others such as Vleeming’s muscle tests, Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains, the Mulligan Concept and the use of Real Time Ultrasound.
Kinesio Taping to assist special populations are also studied and include:
- Respiratory / breathing enhancement
- Paediatric
- Women’s Health including pre/post-natal
- Musculoskeletal/Sports
- Advanced Lymphatic/Swelling Taping
- Orthopaedic
